Busy July...so glad it is over! :)

Well we had a busy July. We had two birthdays, a 20 year high school reunion, a family reunion campout, finals in two accounting class, and just yesterday, Amanda had her "summer" piano recital. I have to say I am glad all of this is over, yet we had a wonderful time.

I always thought it would take forever to have a 20 year high school reunion. I never thought I would get this old. lol  Although I am so glad I was able to go.  I felt like everyone pretty much looked the same...even if some of them were losing some hair. :)  It was soo good to see my friends!  It was also nice that Roy knew people from my graduating class since he was a year younger than me in school.

Roy, Me, Jackie (cousin) and Kevin Mortensen

On July 24, we were all able to ride in the Fiesta Days Parade in Spanish Fork, Utah.  Fun times!

Jackie, Mortensen, Me, and Emily Tuckett Dixon (us on the float).

Here are some of Roy's buddys in my graduating class.
Sterling Cornaby, Cordelle Nielsen, Jared Goble,
Scott Peterson, & Kelly Conroy.

Jessica just turned 14 years old.  It is hard to believe!
She is such a sweetheart and just keeps getting more beautiful each year.

Amanda had her third piano recital.  She played the song, "Rover".
She was even the very first person to play for the recital.  She did a wonderful job!

She does such a wonderful job with the kids!

Amanda's 6th Birthday

Amanda had her 6th birthday yesterday! She was so excited because she was having her first birthday party ever. :) She wanted to have a Rapunzel princess party. She had a couple of friends come and they were able to do a princess treasure hunt, pin pascal on Rapunzel, and hit a pinata that Amanda made over a year ago.  Later they had cake, ice cream and opened presents. She received a lot of fun things. After the party was over we pulled out a new "pink" scooter. She has been asking for one for quite sometime especially since her bike is out-of-order at the time. :) Here are some fun pictures of her party!

Rocky Mountain Rumble Natural Body Building Competition

Yesterday, Saturday, May 19, Roy competed for the first time in the ABA Utah Rocky Mountain Rumble Body Building Competition.  The ABA follows the IOC drug testing standards, which means anything that would disqualify you from the Olympics, would also disqualify you for competing in the ABA.
The morning started off early as he had to be up and eating by 4 a.m.  His last meal the night before was at 11 p.m.  The competition was at Ogden High School and had the drug testing at 9 a.m. and the pre-judging started at 10 a.m.  Amanda and Kaitlyn had the chance to see their Dad compete for the first time.  When Roy came out, Kaitlyn yelled "Go Daddy!"  The audience chuckled. :)  Roy competed in the Masters and Open Tall Division.  Both divisions were tough, leaving us not knowing how he would be scored.

At the evening show, Roy took 2nd in the Masters division and looking through the pictures from the morning show, Roy & Jim Brau decided he needed to change his foot placement on the front poses to show more quad.  In the Open Tall division, Roy won the class.  Which put him in the overall final against the guy who beat him in the Masters, and the winner in the Medium-Tall class.  They brought all of them out on stage, and put them through all the mandatory poses and plus some extras. This gave Roy the opportunity to show the change in foot placement, better quad definition development, and sweep. Also, having another meal between the shows helped Roy to come in harder and the muscles were fuller.

Well, the changes and tweeks were made, and Roy got his revenge on the Masters winner and the Medium-Tall winner.  He ended up taking the overall show! :)  He is now the Rocky Mountain Rumble Champion and won $250 to go towards his next national competition!  He also qualified to go professional, if he so chooses!   He is looking at competing in the Natural Olympia in Reno, Nevada on November 9, 2012.  He would like to thank everyone who helped him get ready.  Especially, the three time reigning Mr. Natural Olympia, Kioshi Moody with his training and diet.  Here are some pictures of the exciting event!

Last Day of Kindergarten

Well Friday was Amanda's last day of Kindergarten!  It is hard to believe how fast time flies. She has learned so much!!  I was able to spend the last day of school with her.  She had her testing first thing in the morning.  Later her class had a little program where they sang some fun songs.  Afterwards, the parents and their kids went to ten little stations.  Our kids were able to show what they have learned.  Amanda is a great student!  I am so proud of all of her hard work.  She is a happy, and smart little girl!

You can tell she loves the kids and her job.

Mother's Day 2012

Well, I had a nice Mother's Day.  My husband spoiled me with some gorgeous flowers and after church, Kaitlyn and Amanda both had little notes for me.  Kaitlyn drew different little pictures.  Amanda's note was a bit more detail since she knows how to write. :)

Her note said:

Dear Mom,
You are a great mom because I love you for doing the dishes.
My favorite part of the day is when we jump on the tramp.
Thanks for teaching me running and about Jesus.
Love,  Mandy :)

It is just fun to see what goes through their minds and plus it is always nice to know they really do appreciate us even when we seem not so nice at times. :)  Here are some pictures.

Kaitlyn taking a nap

Little places Kaitlyn finds to take a nap.  It is behind my long length mirror today. :)

 Kaitlyn showing me her muscles.

Amanda showing me where she lost her first tooth.  She has been waiting for this day for awhile since many of her friends already experienced that happy day. :)

Kaitlyn, Me, and Amanda.  My little girls.  They definitely keep me busy
and always makes each day adventurous!  I love them so much!

Amanda's School Egg Drop

It was an exciting event for our family.  Amanda's school was doing an egg drop.  The teacher's would go up on the roof of the school and drop the eggs.  Of course the kids are suppose to protect the egg so it won't break.  So Amanda wanted to put her egg in a rocketship.  Roy used his creative skills and made it out of two oatmeal containers and made a point on it with fins.  They wrapped the egg in bubble wrap and put a rock in a different container to put more weight on the opposite side of the egg.

Jessica & Ammon were with us the night before and Jessica helped decorate with marker the outside of the rocket with Amanda. They even named the egg, "Eggbert the Brave". Amanda's egg was the last to be dropped and little "Eggbert the Brave" survived the drop! Roy video taped the drop.
