Halloween 2012

Well we had another fun year this Halloween.  Amanda wanted to be a cowgirl and Kaitlyn was Rapunzel.  They had so much fun dressing up!  We pretty much did our tradition.  We went to the pumpkin walk my work does every year.  They do such a great job.  They had a pumpkin carving contest and a bunch of fun games for the kids.  Here are some pictures of the festivities.  We also had Amanda's school Halloween Parade.  It was fun to watch all of the kids dressed up.

New Countertops in Kitchen

A few years ago we were canning.  After taking out the finished cooked cans, putting them on towels...we heard a pop.  We realized our countertop cracked.  It wasn't pretty. We definitely thought we had enough towels down to protect the countertop.  Well this year we did more canning, and the countertop cracked even more.  We were able to get some bids, and were able to get half the price we had budgeted for to have granite countertops.  I was so excited.

I took some before and after pictures.  There is a huge difference in the warmth of the kitchen.  The granite countertops definitely brings in all the colors in the kitchen.  I was able to also get a sink that doesn't stain.  My old sink would stain, and I everything I would use didn't work.  So all I can say is...I am sooo pleased with the outcome.  I love my kitchen!!

 Our kitchen before...

The crack...it even goes farther but the camera didn't catch it all.

 My icky stained sink.

My new granite counter top! :)

My new sink that will not stain!

I love my new kitchen!

New Little Pup - Fluffy aka Fluffer

We have a new little addition to our little family.  Roy helped train a friend of ours in a figure competition.  She did awesome in it and they had a little get together with family and friends the next day after the competition to celebrate.  During the time Roy was training Maria, my little girls would go over and play with their puppies.  They were born July 5, 2012.  They are little Maltese pups.  They are adorable.  I was able to meet the cute little pups at the celebration.  Maria and her husband offered us one of their puppies for free.  We thought it over.  We never really ever wanted a pet, especially an indoor one.  They girls just love the little runt of the group.  After much thought, Roy and I decided to have the little runt.  She now has a name and it is an indoor dog.  Her name is Fluffy, but is being called more, "Fluffer". :)

Fluffer has such a sweet personality.  She is very daring as well.  She will jump off things to go the person she wants to hold her.  She has received the nickname, "Fluffer the Flying Dog". :)  Just this past week, a sad thing happened.  Poor little Fluff was injured from falling to the ground.  There were some hard lessons learned with the kids.  She was hurt pretty bad.  I took Fluff to the pet hospital and she had a fracture in her shoulder.  We have her leg wrapped up right now for a month and hoping her bones will heal correctly.  She could have went into surgery, but we didn't want to go that route.  Little Fluffer is a trooper.  She is even walking around with a wrap on her leg and still wanting to be cuddled.  Here are some pics of little Fluffer.

Roy's High School Alumni Assembly

Next year Roy will have his 20 year high school reunion.  He was asked to participate in the homecoming assembly this year to represent his 1993 class.  He was asked to be Ashi Babba, which was a person at the high school who would get the crowd excited and express their school spirit.  The tradition was Ashi Babba would yell "Ashi Babba!  Then the crowd would yell back, "Hey!  Hey!".  Ashi Babba and the crowd would do this three times and usually at the end.  Ashi Babba would take off his shirt and have "SF" (Spanish Fork) on the back or SF Rules, etc.  Well, Roy wasn't planning on taking off his shirt until his mom showed up before the assembly started.  She had the paint in hand, said he had to take his shirt off, and have something written on his back...plus he had to show off his muscles.  With his mom's encouragment....he did it. LOL!  He did a great job, and the crowd went wild.  I heard some kids in the crowd say, "He is huge!"  I just laughed.  They had him participate in other parts of the assembly.  I think he had a good time and was able to see friends he hadn't seen in a long time.

Ammon's 12th Birthday!

It is hard to believe, but Ammon has now turned 12 years old as of September 14.   He is growing up so fast!  Right now his interest is football.  He just finished up playing flag football and enjoyed every minute of it.  He really wants to play tackle...maybe next year. :)  Just this past weekend, October 14, he was able to received the Aaronic Priesthood from his dad. :)  It was a special day.  I think Ammon was pretty excited.  He even had a new suit that he looked pretty sharp in. :)  Here are some photos of his birthday and the day he received the priesthood.

Canning during the Summer

We have been lucky to have so much produce from our garden this year!  Roy has been able to can string beans, peaches, yummy jam, apple sauce, and I am sure I am forgetting some of them. We have been able to restock things up in our food storage, which is always nice. :)  Here is some photos of Amanda helping Roy canning apple sauce.

Decorating Kaitlyn's Room

It has taken me awhile but I was able to decorate little Kaitlyn's room.  It is a computer/office/Kaitlyn bedroom right now.  I have felt a bit bad because it didn't really feel like a kids room except for all the toys in there. :)  Here are some pictures of the exciting improvements in her room.  I was able to get some fun pictures that are some of Kaitlyn's favorite things and a mirror that I fell in love with when I saw it.  It is definitely unique.  Enjoy the photos! :)
