Amanda's School Egg Drop

It was an exciting event for our family.  Amanda's school was doing an egg drop.  The teacher's would go up on the roof of the school and drop the eggs.  Of course the kids are suppose to protect the egg so it won't break.  So Amanda wanted to put her egg in a rocketship.  Roy used his creative skills and made it out of two oatmeal containers and made a point on it with fins.  They wrapped the egg in bubble wrap and put a rock in a different container to put more weight on the opposite side of the egg.

Jessica & Ammon were with us the night before and Jessica helped decorate with marker the outside of the rocket with Amanda. They even named the egg, "Eggbert the Brave". Amanda's egg was the last to be dropped and little "Eggbert the Brave" survived the drop! Roy video taped the drop.

General Conference and Easter

The weekend before Easter we were able to watch General Conference.  Kaitlyn woke me up and said, "Mommy, its time to wake up!  Its a beautiful day!"  Then when I got up Amanda comes walking in and said, "I am so excited for General Conference!"  That totally made my day! :)  I try to have fun little packets and little treats for them while they watch so it is a bit more exciting for them.

We even had the Easter Bunny come to our house. We were able to have a Easter Egg Hunt in our backyard. I think everyone had a good time. Here are some pictures!

Jessica's Catapult Project

Jessica and Roy worked on a project for school. It was building a catapult. Jessica with the help of Roy were able to draw a design for the calapult and build it. Jessica's catapult was a 3rd Class Lever. It is suppose to throw a tennis ball. They designed the catapult so it has three different ways to throw the tennis ball depending on how far you want it to go. They went all out on it! She ended up getting a good grade on it. We had the whole family involved in the excitement of the practice launches. :)

Ammon's Science Project - All the way to BYU!

It has been quite the school year for Ammon!  Ammon worked very hard on his science project.  He did his on "Which Potato Chip Has The Most Grease".  He was able to use wax paper, graph paper, and roller to smash the chips to monitor how much grease was on the paper.  He did so well that he was chosen from his school to go to Brigham Young University to show off his project.  He did a great job and definitely deserved the recognition for all of his hard work.  Good job Ammon!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Kaitlyn was able to hang out at the Gold's Gym day care while Roy was training people for an hour.  I am always amazed at the creativity people have for different holidays.  I thought this St. Patrick's craft was pretty cute and Kaitlyn had fun making it. :)

A Good Kite Day

Back in March the wind was going and the kids found a kite in the closet that I had forgotten about. I just knew it was cold outside. I didn't think the kite would fly since I thought the wind was too strong, but I was wrong. It ended up being a nice day. Ammon was the only one able to get the kite up, but the girls had fun watching. :)

Roy's 5th NPC Body Building Competition

Well it has been a big weekend!  Roy competed in his fifth NPC Body Building Competition.  This time he followed a food plan given by Kiyoshi Moody, the three time Natural Mr. Olympia.  His last two weeks, Kyoshi, helped him with workouts, posing, and final tuning to get him ready for the show.  On average per day, there were four hours spent in the gym a day.  Between morning cardio, afternoon lift, and afternoon cardio. Plus time was put in practicing posing, preparing food and other essentials for the show.  While he was preparing, Roy was training others.  One was Karim Johnston.  She was going to compete in the Ladies Figure Novice and the Open Figure B.  This was her first competition ever!

When the big day came Roy was able to finish the competition with three trophies!  He came in 1st in the Ironman Natural Heavy Weight, 2nd in the Junior Masters and 2nd in the Open Heavy Weight division.  Karim Johnston placed 5th in the Novice division, and 2nd in the Open Figure B.  Pretty impressive!  They have worked so hard for this!

Also a huge thank you to Roy's sister, Vickie!  She made Roy's posing trunks and Karim's suit.  She did an amazing job.  She made her own pattern to make these.  She definitely has a talent!  Another huge, thank you goes to Roger & Gina, and Diana & Brian for watching our kids while this was all going on.  Amanda and Kaitlyn had a blast at your homes.  Thank you everyone for your support!

Here are some pictures of the show! Enjoy!

The trophies all combined together.  We had to put in the Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs.  This was something they would have to prep them before they went on stage.
